Suresh Muthuswami, as chairman of North America for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), oversees the organization’s largest market in driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and helping clients in their digital transformation journeys. An advocate of STEM education, Mr. Muthuswami leads TCS’ comprehensive efforts across North America to provide underserved communities and the next generation of talent with the foundational computer science skills for 21st-century careers. Before becoming chairman of North America, he was president and global head of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance Platforms at TCS. In this role, he was responsible for creating a vision, driving digital and business strategy, overseeing business and digital transformation efforts for clients, and leading TCS global service delivery across financial services and insurance. Mr. Muthuswami previously served as the global insurance and health care leader for TCS. He worked extensively with C-suite leaders at Global 1000 clients, helping design and oversee key transformation programs. During his tenure, he successfully steered these businesses and grew them manyfold—building agile units focused on innovation and meeting client needs by championing investments in initiatives and ideas to drive growth and differentiation. Mr. Muthuswami is a member of the State of Connecticut Governor’s Workforce Council, the board of directors of Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose and the American Red Cross Greater New York Region, and the Pace University President’s Council. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in computer applications from PSG College of Technology in India and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
